Title: Subject: CalPERS Contract Amendment - Firefighters From: Department of Human Resources Recommendation: Adopt An Ordinance Of The City Of Oakland Authorizing Amendments To The Contract Between The City Of Oakland And The Board Of Administration Of The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) That Provide 1) Service Credit For Prior Federal Or State Firefighting In A Position Whose Principal Duties Consist Of Active Fire Suppression Or Law Enforcement And In Which That Service Was Terminated As A Direct Consequence Of The Closure, Downsizing, Or Realignment Of A Federal Military Installation, In Accordance With Government Code Section 21024.5 And 2) Local Fire Members To Share The Cost Of The Three Percent At Fifty (3% @ 50) Retirement Formula At The Rate Of Four Percent (4%) Of The City's Contribution, In Accordance With Government Code Section 20516
