Subject: Performance Measures Specific To The Public Works Agency |

Recommendation: Receive A Report On The Public Works Agency Fiscal Year 2004 - 2005 |

A motion was made by Member Quan, seconded by Member Brooks, that |
this matter be *Received and Filed. The motion carried by the following |

The Committee moved seconded and carried a motion to accept the staff report |
and made the following suggestions and/or requests to staff: |
1) look at the City and County of San Francisco's website to incorporate some |
of their ideas for noticing the work of their Department of Public Works and |
return with suggestions for posting our planned and completed public works |
projects including scheduled dates and time to the City's website, |
2) develop a performance measure for mixed waste pick-up including actual, |
missed and customer complaints including processed complaints, |
3) create and incorporate a measure for the emptying of park trash containers |
before they reach a 90% overflow to be launched in July of 2006 and standards |
for green waste pick-up, review or create new ways of educating the public on |
waste management, |
4) include in the annual survey a question regarding constituents' options |
regarding parks maintenance, and providing information on the maintenance |
and expectations of the management of sports fields as well as create a chart of |
official sports fields, |
5) schedule regular informational reports on streets, sidewalks, parks, grounds |
and median maintenance to this committee, |
6) review the waste management greens map for District 6 to confirm that all |
streets in the district are being serviced, |
7) review the contract regarding bulky waste pick-up and work with Waste |
Management of Alameda County to negotiate a reprieve for the first year; and |
8) return in February 2006 with a report incorporating the new ideas for |
performance measures including a prioritized list. |
