RESOLUTION HONORING CHERYL PERRY LEAGUE
FOR HER APPOINTMENT TO THE OFFICE OF NATIONAL PRESIDENT
OF THE NATIONAL FORUM FOR BLACK PUBLIC ADMINISTRATORS (NFBPA)

Whereas, Cheryl Perry League, has been named national president of the National Forum for Black
Public Administrators (NFBPA), a professional association for African-American public leadership
and service; and

Whereas, Perry League is a 17-year member of the 2,500-member organization, and now as
president, her goals include increasing NFBPA's presence on public-policy issues and increasing
mentorship opportunities within its 40 local and state chapters; and

Whereas, Perry League began her two decades of dutiful public service with the Port of Oakland in
1983 and was ultimately named director of the Office of Equal Opportunity in 1991 @ and

Whereas, Perry League has worked diligently to implement numerous non-discrimination and
workforce policies that ensure equal access to employment, promotion, training, and facilities; and

Whereas, Perry League has also served on various public policy committees including: treasurer of
the local chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, member of the National
Association for the Advancement of Colored People. secretary to the Board of Women's Initiative
for Self-Employment, board member of the Fannie Wall Children's Home, Inc.; and member of the
California Association of Equal Rights Professionals; and

Whereas, she has served with distinction as Commissioner for the Human Relations and Civil
Service Commissions of Alameda County@ and
